let's talk about: insecurity.

"We're insecure. You and me and every woman. In fact, chronic insecurity is a cultural epidemic, but almost no one is talking about it. And it ticks me off." PREACH BETH PREACH! At the suggestion of a friend, Hannah Burger and I started reading So Long Insecurity by Beth Moore, thinking that we didn't have that many insecurities to be concerned with. However, 5 pages into the book and we both had tears in our eyes. I strongly believe that God used this book to uncover insecurities that neither of us knew we had, from insecurities in relationships to insecurities about our futures. Beth spends page upon page talking about different kinds of insecurities, where the root of these insecurities come from, and GOSPEL TRUTH that conquers each insecurities.
It has become so clear that losing 5 pounds, landing a cool job, or getting a hot boyfriend WILL NOT make us secure nor is it where we should find our identity (that's still a struggle for us to grasp, trust me). But instead, our security and identity comes from CHRIST ALONE. In Isaiah 41 it says "I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God" (verses 9-10). How many times do we let rejections from the past or fear of the future get us down?! Beth says in her book "Let the Lord tell you you're worth wanting, loving, even liking, pursuing, fighting for, and yes beloved, keeping." So. Much. Truth. If you're feeling insecure (aren't we all???) or wanting a good read, Hannah and I give this book an A+++++!!!!
I have had chronic headaches for as long as I can remember. In an effort to not take excedrin everyday, I started using peppermint oil my sophomore year of high school. I apply a few drops to my hairline, temples, jaw or neck and it is really cooling and helps SO much. My little sister loves it and puts it on her stomach when she has stomach aches. You can buy it here.
Speaking of, Amber oil is my favorite perfume. My friend in the dorm told me about it last year, and now Madeline loves it too. Bonus- it is super cheap!

I really want to try wool sneakers. They're supposedly super comfortable, and look similar to Nike Roshe's.

Video: You know how the fundamental purpose of Christians here on earth is to make disciples of all nations... to be fishers of men? (Matt. 28:19 and 4:19) Am I making disciples? Are you? Why aren't people obeying the most basic thing Jesus calls those of us that are Christians to do?
