our incredible bodies!!!!
This was written by one of my friends from Kanakuk, Marguerite.
"Today in my biochem class, we discussed the importance of a protein’s structure. A protein is one the most fundamental and absolutely necessary macromolecules present in all living organisms- there are thousands of unique proteins in a single human being that carry out functions like transportation, catalyzing every chemical reaction, breathing, etc.
A protein’s physical structure is highly specific; it determines its function. Each protein is coded for, created, and then folded into its native structure in the human body in a matter of microseconds. Microseconds to build these life giving, microscopic structures.
My teacher then explained that with all of the physics, chemistry, biology, and computer power in the modern world, humans cannot mathematically determine how a protein will be folded: in order to compute a single protein’s structure, it would take the most powerful database “an infinite amount of time”.
This process takes our body microseconds. To fold thousands.
Jesus does not promise us explanations in this life- but He does promise us love, security, hope, Joy, power, forgiveness, complete and perfect healing, and eternity with the Creator of our thousands of proteins.
Today I am in awe of our God, and I am thankful that we can count our sufferings as pure joy, because we KNOW that the testing of our faith produces perseverance.
I’m thankful that He folds my proteins, too."

So before Jesus was crucified, at Passover the priest would slaughter thousands of first born animals that the Jews brought forth to sacrifice, and sprinkle the blood on everyone and all the articles in the temple. (ew). "The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean." Hebrews 9:13
BUT this would only serve as an outwardly cleansing for the forgiveness of your sins... there was no inner transformation of the heart until.... "How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! 15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant." Hebrews 9:14-15
Now we no longer are outwardly covered by the blood of animals, but through receiving the Eucharist we symbolically take and eat of the body and blood of Jesus that now INWARDLY cleanses our consciences of sin. We will never fully understand how life changing this was to the Jews of that day, but we can experience the life changing work of the holy spirit if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior.
If you take communion, next time pause and really think about how transformative the new covenant is!
have an incredible week!
